The First Days

So today I went to the Popcorn Festival. As usual I have to wake up early to get a good spot for the parade. I thought the parade was gonna be longer but it was way shorter this year which surprised me. But I did have to fight kids for candy. They kept getting in front of me. They didn't have it last year, in retrospect the parade should have been longer and had more people. After the parade was over my family and I headed downtown to look for food and little tent shops. Most of tent shops were stuff for Halloween or to hang up somewhere in your house. But there was one little tent at the end of the road that I should not have saw. And my family regretted me seeing it.

The tent was for the library and they were selling books for a one dollar. Some where twenty five cents but most were a dollar. I just had to get some books. The books I usually go for are the horror books. It's weird because I am not much of a horror movie kind of fan but horror books, games, and podcasts I love. So I immediately started looking for horror books. I found some like autobiography books about people I did not know. To me they sounded boring. It took me awhile to find some but I found three. The three I found where Lux Consequences, The First Days, and Desperate Measures. I handed the lady a five dollar bill and gave the rest to donations and she was so thankful. We around some more then decided to go and listen to the band that was playing.

It was country. I'm not much of a country fan. I decided to sit down and grab one of my books. I pulled out The First Days. I opened the book and read the first few sentences and could already imagine what the scene would look like. In the first few sentences it described small little hands underneath the door trying to reach to her, the main character. When suddenly blood was running out from under the door. I know I would just start running and not just stand there and watch. The book then goes to describe how her husband ran into the glass to try and eat her. And one of the first thing she thinks of is that she should have had her husband put in the weather stripping. I think there is more important things to think about than the weather stripping! Her son and husband are dead and want to kill and eat her! Why would you think of that at a time like this?! Clearly you're not gonna have your house anymore so it doesn't matter. Anyways she then gets on this women's truck and learns a little about her life. While they try not to get eaten and get away from these zombies.

The chapters in this book are short but there is still a lot of pages to read. I can not wait to read more about it. I wonder if the two of them will have to kill off hundreds of zombies or If one of them will die and the other has to find a group of people to help her. I figured out that this is the first book and there are more books, at least two more. I'll have to find the others so that I can figure out what happens next and not just read the first book and have no idea what comes after.
