Acadia National Park, Sand Beach, ME
Looking at this image you may think of calmness and peace. Just imagining yourself standing there and looking at the mountain with maybe a slight breeze blowing past your face. Bend down to look at the water and see an excessive amount of tadpoles. To most people this would be an exhilarating experience, unfortunately for me it was the complete opposite.
This awful day starts out with waking up at 6:30 in the morning in a clean hotel room. I get dressed and head downstairs for the hotel breakfast. My family and I get on the elevator and go to the first floor and head to the little breakfast room. I get a banana that has brown spots and some apple juice. I gobble down my breakfast then stare at the wall. Suddenly my hand feels weird. It felt like it was going numb. So I moved it around hoping it would stop but it did not. Then boom! My head started pounding and pulsating. I thought, "great when there is a lot of stuff to do today I get a migraine." Quickly I tell my parents and we rush up to the room to get some ibuprofen. I take a break and sit down. My eye lids opened and I was starting to not be able to see. It was like there was little fuzzy stars everywhere I would look. Soon my sister, Carissa, and her fiancé, Marshall who is now her husband, arrive and knock on the door. My parents explain the whole situation. We still decided to go and headed to the car.
In the car I sat next to my Carissa because she worked for a chiropractor. She has had people come in to get there backs adjusted so they wouldn't get as many migraines. She messaged my back and told me to take more ibuprofen. She hands me an ice-cold water bottle and 2 more ibuprofens. I chug them down and close my eyes for a little bit. After about 30 minutes I feel a little better and look over at Carissa. She is on snapchat looking at filters. I decide to open my snapchat too. I wanted to make the most of it while I felt better

Once we got there it was packed. It was like the streets of Chicago. And if you wanted a close parking spot, good luck. We had a huge van so it was hard to get a parking spot but we managed to find one close enough. Just had to squeeze through a tight parking spot. Carissa, Marshall, and I ran down to the beach and towards the rocks. I only climbed on one rock and didn't want to want to climb up anymore and risking falling. But Marshall, he was bound determined he climbed all the way to the top and towards a seagull. At this point I was feeling good, didn't feel any pounding. He then got down and we decided to walk more around the beach. We looked for shells but did not find any.
Then we walked over to an area with little water and a view of the hill (the first picture). Carissa and Marshall found it funny if they pretended to through me in the lake. They swooped me off my feet and swung me around. Once they sent me down my head began to ache and the pounding came back to me. We only walked around for a little longer. But that little longer felt awful. My legs were cramping up and I felt like throwing up. So we decided to go to the gift shop and then leave back to the hotel.
That was probably my worst day up in southern Maine. And now thinking back to it, there was still a lot of great moments in that one day. I still got to see my sister and brother in law and at least had some fun. So maybe it wasn't awful but it was still not the greatest. Just got to make sure when I get a migraine again not to be swung around. And in life to always try to make the best of any situation no matter what. Because time always goes away so fast, like this trip up to Maine.
