Is It Worth the Hype?

This weekend I decided to watch Squid Game. Squid Game is where hundreds of people who are in debt play children's games to win money. I kept seeing it all over Tik Tok. I usually do not watch popular shows that everyone seems to watch. But I saw it was kdrama also known as a korean drama. I have watched a few kdramas. Some to name are High School Love On, Reunited Worlds, and Cinderella and the Four Knights. So I thought why not add another kdrama to my collection. I looked it up on Netflix and saw that there was only 9 episodes. I'm used to like 40 episodes that are 30 minutes long. But then I found out each episode was an hour long. I knew it was gonna be bloody so I decided to brace myself. Not like I have watched any murder documentaries or anything. 😅 So in these next few paragraphs I'm gonna talk about all of it and my overall view of it and try to give out any spoilers.

Watching the first like 30 minutes of the episode was a little hard it doesn't get too interesting right off the bat. You basically have to force yourself to sit down and watch it. I think it gets more interesting towards the end of the first episode. And boy was the end of the first episode bloody. I won't go into detail but let's just say lots of people died and there was blood everywhere. I think the first episode was the most boring only because of the beginning.

From Episode 6
Each episode got better and more heartbreaking. The most heartbreaking episode was episode 6. Episode made me cry so hard. It takes a lot for me to cry but that episode really did it for me. Every time I got on Tik Tok and saw a video on Squid Games and someone commented that they were on episode 6. People were like oh no or oh you poor thing because they knew what was coming. This episode made me hate one character way more in particular but I won't say who. Like I could literally write a whole paper on why I hate him. There is another character I cried for because the two even though they barely talked to each other where such a good team. Like I swear the people who ran the games knew exactly what they were doing. Anyways I think that episode is the one that gets everyone.

Even though I didn't write too much on the squid game I think it is a really good kdrama. I could write more but I might end up writing a whole paper probably with spoilers. Even though it is obvious who wins I still think that having someone else win would not follow the rest of the show. I think if you can handle blood, people dying, and seeing people fight over lots of money then you should definitely watch squid game. Also there is one sex scene in episode 4 just for a heads up. Anyways I think it is worth the hype it has been given. But that is my opinion.
